PROPOSED ROUTE CHANGES FOR 2007
    The largest route change for this year is in Leucadia. Rather than detouring onto Vulcan and possibly blocking impatient drivers, it is proposed that we stay on PCH. There is a section of somewhat rough pavement from Leucadia to Encinitas Blvds., but it is reasonable. Drivers will be able to pass us easily without incident.
    We will bypass the Encinitas train station with this route change. Therefore, the first regrouping location will be the park parking lot by Swami's at the south end of Encinitas. There are restrooms and a water fountain and you can view the surfers as you rest.
    The remainder of the route remains the same. Sections of PCH have been repaved, including the bumpy bridge by the Del Mar racetrack and the bumpy descent to Carmel Valley Rd.
    We will discuss these changes and come to an agreement before we start.

The Amtrak station is on the corner of Kettner and Broadway.

NOTES

1. Oceanside: Turn at Vista Way instead of going all the way to Eaton St. to avoid a downhill to a stop sign at Hill St.

2. Leucadia: This year we will stay on PCH and tough out some rough pavement through Leucadia in order to avoid blocking traffic on Vulcan Ave.

3. Solana Beach: This detour is to avoid bad pavement in Solana Beach.

4. Torrey Pines: You may take the road or the park path up the Torrey Pines hill.
